Beautiful animals and annoying people seem to go together.
This will be another one of our “we can sleep later” holidays…
Our boat trip around Svalbard started with an amazing first day…
The work at this project can be hard; you will get dirty and sweaty, you will have ants crawling on you and you will worry about mosquitos – but when you come back to the lodge in the evening you will be proud and happy.
There actually are mussels living in the streams around our village in Germany! Today we joined in to relocate some of them to a new but more natural river that is being created.
Tired but happy faces on our last day at Seal River lodge.
New day, new adventures. The weather might have been a bit rough during our boat trip, but all this was forgotten when the night sky treated us to a wonderful Northern light show.
Day two of our tundra adventure. Two wolf sightings made this day really special. And if this isn’t enough, there are always Sik Sik around to cheer you up.
A very exciting first day at Seal River Lodge. Seeing the tundra without snow is a great experience and having a sleeping polar bear at your doorstep is just the best thing ever.
We are back in Polar bear country. Yes, we are here to see Polar bears (and various other wildlife) and No, there is no snow!
